A Quicky

Don't forget to put any clothes that need to air dry on top of the running dryer. If I don't have anything that needs to lay flat, I put the next load of clothes to dry on top of the running dryer. It is amazing how hot they get before it is there turn. I wonder if I could heat up leftovers on top of the dryer. I bet potatoes would reheat quite nicely inside the dryer.
Have a great day,
SonyaAnn

Good tip about giving your clothes a head start on top of the dryer.

There are recipes out there somewhere for baking potatoes in the dishwasher. I haven't tried it. I don't like the way my dishwasher behaves, so I'm definitely not going to feed it.

Annie Jones-It really helps cut down on drying time.
My dishwasher kind of hates me too. I just hope it can make it a bit longer. I don't have a fund in place for appliances even though we need one. Our frig and microwave is over 15 years old, I think we are pushing it. I would love to replace them with stainless steel. But it will stay a dream, I'm sure.

Wow! The top of my dryer is never that clean! I usually put all kitchen towels stacked up there until there is room in the kitchen cabinet. Or someone has dumped some detergent on it. We also keep a box on it to collect any change for missions at church. I get to keep any bills I find!
Great idea tho! You've inspired me to sort out my towels and get rid of a bunch!

McVal-Trust me this house doesn't feel all that organized! But thanks for thinking that.
I need to buy towels and that hairdini for Anna to take to school. I have to say that collecting and telling everyone what we are looking for is helping with the budget. Thanks for the reminder.

It is amazing how hot the top of the dryer gets, I wish it would heat up the down stairs of our house it is always so cold down stairs. I just saw your post about your new laundry room floor. Looks great. Its funny how a little change can make you feel energized.
Have a great day!

Linda-I think if it did heat up the downstairs it would be on fire.LOL
It is so much better down there now but I still want a ceiling. I just have to keep telling myself a little a time.

I put my bras on top of the dryer(TMI?) because I don't like to put them in the dryer--they seem to last longer if I don't dry them in the dryer. They dry by the end of the cycle so I can fold and put them away with the rest of the clothes.

Haha- i just imagined you doing that! Another great way to stay frugal with your expenses- chuck the drier even- air dry your clothes- okay, you're going to think i'm loose in the head but we get a lot of sun here and it works just fine.

I don't think the top of our dryer gets that hot. It is not available anyway. We keep Hubby's toolbox (well, my tools are in it, too, so I guess it is "our" toolbox) and 12 packs of diet soda on the dryer.

SonyaAnn said...

Sheila-I hang my bras in the closet or on doorknobs. And I love TMI!

The Warrior in ME-You are so lucky! We don't get a lot of sunlight. I can hang dry clothes in the summer but the spring, summer and fall are out of the question.

Frances-Ubber cute that you two have a shared toolbox!
Maybe something is wrong with my dryer if it is getting that hot! It wouldn't surprise me.

SonyaAnn, your dryer is probably fine. Mine may get hot on top, I just never touch it. LOL!

I did have a dryer fire once and that is when I learned that you have to clean lint out of the dryer regularly. LOL! I had that dryer for 10 years before finding that out. I cleaned enough lint out of there to make several pillows. (But I didn't since it smelt all burny.)

SonyaAnn said...

Frances-Smelt all burny!!! You are crazy! And thank you for writing for me. So if I tell you to do other things, will you?

Frances said...

Yes, SonyaAnn, I will do what you tell me.

Of course, since I am at work, I really should be working instead of being here. LOL!

SonyaAnn said...

Frances-Ohhhh, I probably shouldn't even go there!
