Oh, Oh, Oh good tip!

After Valentine's Day, we bought a ton of clearance candy from CVS. It was 90% off. We put it in the freezer and I forgot about it but Den didn't.;) He has been hiding in the game room with a box every once in a while and not coming out until its gone. I'm sure that he would dispute that exact phrase but I'm sticking with it.
I found the evidence in the trash and decided to take it apart because I wanted to see what the music maker looked like. I was in frugal heaven. Anna is very crafty and I'm sure that she could find a way to reuse it. And if that doesn't work out, we scored a few FREE batteries. We paid $.90 for the box of candy and the batteries alone are worth more than that. So before you toss anything that makes music(like the singing cards) yank the batteries out of it!
Thanks for stopping over,
SonyaAnn

You know, I NEVER would've thought to yank out the batteries from these things. BRILLIANT idea! Thanks!

That IS a good tip, although I can't think of anything we own anymore that uses that kind of battery.

Really good tip--one I never would have thought of. Thanks. We have a few of those cards floating around here so I may have to operate later today.

Yeah for you finding a good reason to destroy stuff!!

Next time someone hassles me about re-using the plastic liners of cracker and cereal boxes, I'm gonna say, "Hey, it could be worse -- my friend Sonya strips the guts out of singing greeting cards."
I've also heard that you should take the battery out of those disposable cameras before dropping them off. I believe it's a double-A battery, and those are always useful.
Hmmm....Wonder if you could politely ask the photo department manager if you could "recycle" the batteries for him???

Anything Fits a Naked Man-You are welcome! Now we just need to figure out what we can do with it.

Annie Jones-DJ has a few little toys that uses batteries like this and I know that our calculator uses little batteries, too. I just wonder if they fit.

Sheila-"I'm off to operate."-LOL!

Frances-I love destruction!

Donna Freedman-Anna looked at me as if I had lost it. And it was super loud too. I was trying to find a way to muffle it and Anna just shook her head and walked off. She thinks that I may have gone too far with frugal! NEVER!
"Hmmm....Wonder if you could politely ask the photo department manager if you could "recycle" the batteries for him???"-Are you going to try it? If it works, you would be a frugal genius! Well, more so than normal!

Wow! You're thinking up such good stuff! I like.

Ok SonyaAnn....you go right ahead and disembowel that musical card thingy. I'll be off in the game room with Den helping him 'guard' the chocolate.hehehe

Those button type batteries can be reused in watches if you have a watch that fits that particular size/model # of battery that you salvage.

Rene W.-Glad that you liked it!
And a HUGE thank you, I love to win!

Beth-Thanks for coming to see me. I'm a little behind these days with getting back to everyone in a timely fashion. Sorry and you are still loved!

slugmama-LOL! I have caught him taking entire bags of candy and hiding them so the kids don't get any!
I'm just going to keep collecting them in the freezer. That is the kind of battery that you never have.
Thanks for coming to see me!

My father was like Den. He'd have my mom buy cookies and then sit on the couch watching tv and eat the whole bag. And he never shared them with us kids....maybe that's why I hoard cookies now?lol

SonyaAnn said...

Den will always complain about his father hoarding and steal his chocolate when he was a kid but he is just as bad! I always share! Den, Anna and DJ were really having a heated argument about who had more ice cream bars than the other one day.I listened for a while as they counted them off and then I said that I hadn't had one yet. They all shut up! BRATS!

Great idea...I thought of that before but then I end up with these tiny batteries that fit in nothing that i own! Making me mad that they are cluttering my space...now if they only put AA batteries in cards...then that would be helpful for me!!!

kado!-LOL, that would be a huge card!
