Another cheap fix!

And this is the inside of one of our kitchen cabinets. Contrary to public beliefs, I do not keep small kitchen appliances in our bedroom. And I'm not even going to let Annie Jones comment on the cheese grater!
Anyways, we seem to be getting more than our fair share of things breaking around here. It just may be our year. I was unloading our barely working dishwasher(this is Anna's job but I had a second load and she wasn't home so I had to do it.) I put some of the bowls on the shelf and it came crashing down. CRAP!!! I had snapped four of the five plastic clips. And of course, we don't have anymore. As I unloaded the cabinet, a little thought crossed my mind(at this age I only get small ones). I went around and took one clip from four shelves. I took the clip off of the back corner so that the working selves were still stable. I treated this little problem like I would if I lost the lug nuts from a tire. How's that for using my noodle? So the next time you have a problem, think like me and make four more of your cabinets unstable!
Thanks for stopping over,
SonyaAnn

You crack me up. I don't think I would have thought of that but I'll keep it in mind. Things are always breaking around here too but it's big things like central air units, garage doors, computers, stoves. I would say I could go for a few small things to break but why tempt fate?!? Have a great week!!

Sheila-We just can't have nice things! WE have had to replace a car and that same weekend the roof started leaking and we had to start planning for a new one with no money. It's a never ending cycle of expenses!

So....basically by stealing clips from other shelves, you are setting yourself up for having lots of your shelves collapse down the road in quick succession?lolol

Who the heck uses puny litte plastic clips to hold up shelves? My cabinets have puny little metal clips! Haven't had a shelf collapse yet....well, if you don't count the shelf in the garage cabinets but that baby's got a whole other set of 'issues'.lol
Go buy some better clips please....I'll pay for them so I don't have to stress out over you dying an untimely death by 'kitchen shelf implosion'. ;-)

slugmama-Hey, don't burst my bubble! I didn't even think about that one. With my luck, they will all go at once. I just hope that it happens to Den and then I can say, "What did you do!"

I'm with Slugmama. I will split the cost with her for some better shelf clips.

I will be worrying everyday that you stuck your head in there for some reason and the shelves come tumbling down on your head. Appliances and all.

Maybe you should be safe and move your appliances to the bedroom.

Frances-OK, I'll get some more. And I thought that I was being so smart!!!
LOL about the bedroom!!!! You are so bad and I still love it!

Hmmm... Those shelf clips do look a little puny. It seems if one think breaks it sends secret signals to everything in the house. "Break now! HaHahaha!"

I've done the 3 clip thing too... Good luck with that! now I'm inspired to clean some cabinets anyway!

SonyaAnn said...

Pam-Oh God, I hope they aren't sending out signals! I can't take much more!!

McVal-I'm glad to know that I'm not alone.
And I'm so sorry that you feel inspired to clean. I can honestly say that this is the first year that I have never Spring cleaned. Shhhhh, don't tell anyone.

Well SonyaAnn....you are the one who told us that your house is evil and it hates you.
I think the house has convinced the appliances and the cabinets & furniture to come over to the 'dark side' too. I wouldn't turn my back on that cheese grater either....I saw the way he was eyeing you...and not in a good 'porn way'! ;-)

SonyaAnn said...

slugmama-That was too funny. And yes just about every day I think that this miserable house is after me or should I say the checkbook!

SonyaAnn said...

kado!-Thank you! I feel so much better!

lol - you are so funny! But seriously, that's probably what I would have done. I hope they all stay up!!

SonyaAnn said...

Rene W.-I say that about my husband too!

My husband would probably have rebuilt the cabinet with some kind of mega steel reinforcement and it would never, ever, ever come down again. Not even with a wrecking ball and a bulldozer. He's over the top like that sometimes.

Annie Jones-And dear Den would have gotten pissed off and crushed it! He loses his temper and things get really, really broken!
