More Christmas Crap!

I got those cute little purse for $5 each. It is hard to see but they are made out of wood and have been painted on. I have never seen anything like them before. Guess what I'm getting in my stocking?
The Marilyn picture was $20. I have spent $334.13 so far. I'm going to blow passed this pretty quick though. Both of the kids said they want money for Christmas. DJ has to pay for his car insurance and Anna has college bills. So checks will probably end up in their stockings if Santa approves.
I think that I'm going to do quite a few gift cards this year. So if you are planning on buy them don't forget to go through My Points.
Thanks for stopping by,
SonyaAnn

My daughter would love those purses--she doesn't use a purse but she keeps thing in them and used them as decorations around her bedroom. I have no presents bought at all--well--except Kevin's--he says his is the RV!!! Kind of an expensive present if you ask me!! I hope you have a great week. Take care.

The purses are adorable. My wee one steal my jewelry and stashes it in any container available and calls it her jewelry box. She would love those for her "loot"

Dawna-Anna used to "borrow" my stuff too. And DJ would eat my lipstick. The boy was strange!

All 3 of my offspring say they want money. While I commend them for not wanting 'stuff', I know they will take that money and buy stuff...ugh.lol
Where's the fun FOR ME when they ask for money?
It's so not fair, right?lol

Especially since I was planning on giving them gift cards since I'm getting those for FREE from the credit card points...sigh...oh well, there goes my evil, brilliant plan down the crapper.

We have given our kids money for years. Hubby used to also buy a lot of "doo dads" for them, but we quit that when Samantha moved out and left a bag of those doo dads from Daddy in the closet. LOL!

Now, they get some cash and a bag of HBA, a couple jars of jam and a loaf of cranberry almond bread.

Well, Chance will get a care package this year, instead of a bag.

Oh, and I love that pic of Marilyn!

McVal-We should call it, "Let the games begin!"
Happy hunting!

Lisa B-Great minds, dear!

Lisa B-You certainly don't look old enough to have grandchildren!

slugmama-Anna is asking for money or any gift cards she can use down at school, like Walmart. DJ wants throwing knives. Nothing says the birth of Christ like a good knife. I should have known that my kids would be messed up.

Frances-I'm just so sick of stuff. I think that cash or gift cards are the way to go. I always say that if it doesn't fit in the palm of my hand, I don't want it. I would get rid of 90% of the stuff in this house if I got my way! Probably best that I don't get my way!

Frances-Shhhh, I bet Anna will too!

Jill-Do you have a lot to buy? And good job on the wrapping! I would forget what was in the box and have to unwrap it!LOL

Personally, I love gift cards but the purses are adorable too! I think I will ask for money this year too!

Yes I do have a lot to buy. I try to start early in the year so it's not so expensive at one time. This year was real tough because of my husband losing his job. But that's what makes us focus even more on what's really important. Have a great night!
Blessings,
Jill

SonyaAnn: You can buy gift cards at a discount, remember, through sites like Plastic Jungle and Cardpool.com.
I suggest, however, that you go to Gift Card Granny, an aggregator for discounted gift cards. Type in what you want and GCG will check eight different places, including eBay, for the best deal.
This is the topic of my Nov. 10 Living With Less column -- watch for it, because it will offer other ways to stack the discounts. I talked to some REALLY savvy shoppers for this one.

Pam-I like having odd things to put the presents in, instead of wrapping paper.

Jill-Having a serious problem does change your perspective on what is important.

Donna Freedman-I always love your articles this time of year. Saving some money helps get me into the Christmas season, well almost. I'm not that Christmas-y.
