Stay Clam

I'm about to spend a ton of money on Christmas. Take a deep breath! I'm going to give an explanation and then you can fry me. There are just certain people that I'm not willing to stop buying for. So here it is.....
A friend of mine has three kids, one DJ's age and then one in about 3rd grade and a 5 year old. The kids don't have grandparents on the Father's side. And while they do have grandparent's on the mother's side, they are from a poor country and can't do much. And while it is their Christmas, the parent's believe in educational gifts for the most part. BORING! Let's just say that my gifts are very well received. I'm thinking Wisconsin Dells. They have a lot of great deals in the winter. I'm going to get a $125 gift card from here! And so I don't put a strain on their tight budget, I've been saving our free gas cards for them.
I'm going to put a note in the gift to tell them how to book super cheap rooms and suggest bringing their own food up there so they get to go for free.
This is the gift that I'm looking forward to giving the most and it will be free since I've saved my credit card rewards for this.

Looking for a Craft Idea

Every year, we have Thanksgiving at our house. We have anywhere from 20-25 people. It is a ton of work but I'm sure you know this.
Anyways, after we eat and clean up the kitchen, the boys play cards and the girls make projects. One year we made tiny gingerbread houses that closely resembled an outhouse. The next year we painted barn yard animals. They sucked! So I'm trying to keep the costs down again and come up with a cheap craft. I was thinking about painting wine glasses or making jewelery. I can get the wine glasses from the dollar store but painting wasn't a real big winner last year. I think the jewelery would be a big hit but it would probably cost a ton and I have no idea how to make anything. Is there anything else that we could make on the cheap?

Shhhhhhhhhh!

Let me start this by saying, "I don't want to hear it." And I'm saying it in my most stern mom tone. This is an update to Santa's Secret. Yup, I went way over budget on this one. I'm not telling anymore who is getting what but I doubt my little nephew is going to read this. He isn't two yet and his world consists only of Thomas and ride on cars. My guess is this will be his favorite gift. The only problem is I don't think I will have the self-control to wait. Honestly, I've already said that we should give it to him when he is here at Thanksgiving. I mean they won't have much room at Christmas for such a big toy in the car(they live in KY) so giving it to him now only makes sense, right?
My grand total for the year is $441.23. If I give it to him now, do I get to subtract the $107.10 from the Christmas total?

PERVERT!

I usually don't tell a bunch of stories about my kids. Most of us have them(kids) and you have probably heard most of the stories over and over. Bet you haven't heard this one before.............
I had a bunch of errands to run in town a while ago(forgot to tell you this little gem). I had to go to the library, the post office and the bank. I was going to do one loop and come home. It was a little after three and I was out the door like a flash. I get a little ways down the road and there was DJ walking home. He has been walking home with a couple of friends on nice days. And this was an especially nice day. People were playing with their kids in the front yards, doing yard work, and just catching up with their neighbors. Remember that.
DJ broke off from his friend and headed towards me. I pulled over to talk and rolled down the window. He stayed on his side of the road because there was quite a bit of traffic. I called out if he wanted to run errands with me. He said no and then yelled, "NO, I WILL NOT HAVE SEX WITH YOU FOR MONEY!"
I drove away quickly and hoped that no one got my plate number.

Shocking News

I never thought I would see the day but Anna is super clean and a penny pincher. I told her I didn't know who she was. I'm so proud but it probably won't last long.
I've talked to a few parents that have sent their kids away and they assured me that all the kids go through a rough adjustment period. Since we had never been through it before it was a bit shocking. And because the school is in the middle of nowhere, Anna had a hard time adjusting to having nothing to do on top of home sickness. Us city slickers don't know how to behave down south. LOL!

More Christmas Crap!

I got those cute little purse for $5 each. It is hard to see but they are made out of wood and have been painted on. I have never seen anything like them before. Guess what I'm getting in my stocking?
The Marilyn picture was $20. I have spent $334.13 so far. I'm going to blow passed this pretty quick though. Both of the kids said they want money for Christmas. DJ has to pay for his car insurance and Anna has college bills. So checks will probably end up in their stockings if Santa approves.
I think that I'm going to do quite a few gift cards this year. So if you are planning on buy them don't forget to go through My Points.
