Been Around

If you are a frugal person(pretty sure that you all are), then I'm sure that you have heard of Spent. It's a game where you have to make it on $1000 a month. I read all over the web about how hard it is and that it takes a few times to beat it. So far I haven't had a problem winning. So the question is, does it make me smart, thrifty or poor?
Give it a shot and see what you come up with. I would really like to know.
Thanks,
SonyaAnn

I'll check it out. Does it exclude mortgage payments? If not, I already lost.
Happy Spring!

I made it with about $325 left at the end, but I had to make some tough sacrifices along the way. The most baffling thing to me is I tried for the admin. job and did the typing test with no errors, but still didn't get it. :( LOL...when I used to work outside the home, I made my living typing (secretarial, typesetting, etc.)

A "game" where you have to make it on $1,000/month? Shoot, I call that REALITY! I do this every single month. I'm still going to check out the site.

Will check it out. Knowing my history however, I'm afraid I'll blow right past that limit..

Mark-It's really fun and makes you think. Even though I've had to make it on very little before.
Have a great Spring!

I would have to say if it includes mortgage...I'm already out, lol. But it sounds like fun, I'll be checking it out! Have a great day!

Annie-All four of us tried it and we had no problems. Even DJ made it without much effort. And I was careful not to lead him. The only time I said anything was when it asked him to give $100 for his Mother's meds and he said fine since you are sitting here I don't have much of a choice. He was even a little cold hearted to his kid. LOL

Beth-I've done it on $1200 a month. And honestly I didn't think that it was that bad and rent was half my money.

McVal-I bet you will do fine. Let me know how you do!

Jill-Let me know how it goes, I'm really curious to see how everyone does.
Have a great week!

That was neat!
I took the warehouse job(oy!my aching back!)and chose to live out in the boonies and drive far to work. I ended the month with enough to pay my rent(which was due the following day)for next month even. Yes, I am cheap. I did opt in for the health insurance but I walked away from the union guy so I didn't lose my job.lol
I didn't have any fun or let my kid join the Boy Scouts or whatever, and I put the dog down instead of paying for surgery. Ok, if I was really living on $1000 a month I wouldn't have a dog to begin with. I'd have a low maintenance pet, like a fish or a stuffed animal like my Sis-in-Law.lol

I ran out of money on the 26th of the month!!! I guess I shouldn't have paid the gas bill AND the electric bill lol!
HOWEVER we do live on one income (mine) and live on around 28% of it - the rest is debt reduction and savings so I think I'm doing pretty well!

sluggy-I have to say that DJ was ruthless about the whole thing. If he had his way, I think he would have eaten the dog. I don't want to be left in is care!

Jane-I really like playing that game. I've played it a few times. Proving that something is wrong with me!

I had $788 left. LOL! But I was in pain from working in a warehouse and my friend was mad from having to take my pets and give me rides to work.

Frances-DJ put his dog down and said that the dog would have been the first to go! I was a little worried that he would have gotten rid of the kid too.
