Growing Slime

This is another experiment that I have going. Remember the green onions, well I read somewhere(I'm terrible about giving people credit when it is due. It isn't because I'm rude, it's because I can barely remember where I live half the time) that you could grow roots on the bottom of celery if you placed it in a cup and gave it lots of light. It kind of reminds me of the sweet potato experiment when I was a kid. I'll keep you posted but my guess is this one isn't going to work. I will probably just grow slime.
Thanks for stopping over,
SonyaAnn

I think it will work.

I've done it with the top (leaves) of a pineapple, too, although it didn't live after we planted it in soil. :(

Annie-Thanks for the vote of confidence.
So what went wrong with the pineapple? I've never heard of that one before.

I've done that with the pits of avocados with varying degrees of success but never heard about celery and believe me I've left celery in water (forgotten and woebegone) in the fridge for months - of course they don't get any light in there. Will stay tuned for developments:)

Jane-How sad is it that people stop by to check my celery? I really have no life!

I remember reading somewhere about putting the bottom in some water and growing more celery. I've done the pineapples many times before, I just rip the top off a pineapple peel off a few of the bottom leaves and stick it in some dirt. I have 6 or 7 large pineapple plants outside now (none have fruited yet though)

Good Luck with the celery I'm curious to see if it works.

Tiffany-I still don't see how the pineapple will work. Hmmmm, I'm going to have to look into this one. I love me some pineapple!
