Quick Tip

My hair is going blond for some unknown reason. Most people go gray, I chose to go platinum at the roots. I have been coloring for some time now-not to get rid of gray but to cover the blond. I never remember to use all of the conditioner that comes with the hair dye. I use some of it right after I color and then forget about the rest. I have quite a few of the partial tubes (not that I have had to color my hair for that long, mind you). I have heard that when you go gray blond you start to forget things. Seems to be true.
Anywho, I have been using the remainder of the conditioner on my hair after I swim. It works wonders on stopping your hair from feeling like straw after the pool. Just a thought!
Have a great day,
SonyaAnn

I don't color my hair anymore, but I always loved the conditioner that came in the box of hair color. I never used all of it at one time, either.

I'm a natural blond but then I realized that no one took me seriously so I went brunette. Now people don't just look at me like a ditzy blond with a hot bod. m.

Annie-It has helped my hair so much. It was always like straw after swimming. But I don't know if I will be having that problem anymore since it is only in the high 70's here and the pool is like icewater.

Mark-Blond or Brunette, you are just too hot to be taken seriously.

Oh I'm going gray. My kids have brought this on me...
I don't color it at all. I figure, let it give my kids some guilt trips!
My girls hair gets slimey if they don't use a certain type of shampoo when they get out of the pool. Our hair dresser tells them to wet their hair completely in the shower before going in because blond hair especially will soak up all the bleach in the water, thus causing the sliminess. If it's saturated already, then it won't absorb as much.

I too loved the conditioner when I used boxed dyes. I just use the cheapest I can find since I started using henna and indigo on my hair. I look like a little old lady if I don't color my white hair--you can see my very pink scalp through my rapidly thinning hair!! Hope you're having a great week. Take care.

McVal-I tell them that it is their fault all the time, they don't seem to hear me anymore.
I've had to use ketchup on Anna a few times to get the green out. It worked so well!

Sheila-Does Henna and indigo work well? I've never known anyone that uses it.

SonyaAnn,
It does work well. When you mix the henna and the indigo, it comes out brown. I really like it. This last time I did it, the indigo didn't take as well--I think it was old--any way, parts of my hair are really red but that happens with regular hair dye too. I have lots of red tones in my natural color. I just like using it because it is natural without all the chemicals that burn and blister my scalp. And--the color lasts a really long time except for the really white parts of my hair. I can touch those up without doing my whole head of hair. Take care.

Oh, no! A post about coloring hair! I have been coloring mine for years. Miss Clairol keeps me the blonde I was intended to be.

Unfortunately, when I colored it last weekend, I got DARK blonde. Ugh! I just hate it. I am going for a perm this weekend. Then I will be lightening it back up. Yes, I will color again that soon.

Good for you, SonyaAnn, for finding a way to combat straw hair!

Sheila-Thank you for the info. I've always been interested in it but didn't know who to go to for information.
Thank you again and I hope you are having a great weekend.
