Come Santa Come

I'm getting a little closer with my Christmas goals. I think that I'm going to be shopping at the last minute, GASP! I'm so close to cashing out my credit card rewards but it will take a few weeks to get here. The horror.
So here is what I have now........................
2-$20 G.C. Chili's(paid $10 each)
2 $25G.C  Boston Market(paid $15 each)
4 $15 Rain Forest G.C. (paid $7.50 each)
3 $10 On the Border/Chili's/Macaroni Grill/Maggiano's G.C.(paid $5 each)
1 $25 GameStop G.C(free)
8 $12 movie tickets($6.75 each)
1 $25 Olive Garden G.C. (free)
4 $10 Subway G.C.($5 each)
1 $15 Auto Zone G.C.(free)
1 $10 Burger King G.C($6.99)
1 $10 Target G.C(free from Bank of America, your guess is as good as mine why they are giving them out)

I've paid $175.99(paid for with free money) for $401 worth of gift cards and movie tickets. Next year, I'm going to start listing how much I've made from each company in January. That way if anyone wants to copy me, it will be easier for you. I would also sign up for emails from all the companies I get free stuff from.
I've earned $483 dollars so far, I got another $5 in the mail for testing a rinse aid for the dishwasher. I have quite a few more gifts coming at this point, mostly gift cards but a movie and a couple magazine subscription. I'm sure that I have forgotten a few gifts too. And I have a serious question(who knew). Last year, I ordered my FIL 2 magazine subscriptions and it cost $40 for both. It looks like I might be able to get the same two magazines for $4 this year. How do I count it? We spend $50 on each person do I subtract $40 or $4 from his $50. I'm at a loss on this one.
Thanks for stopping by,

As far as he knows, the magazines still cost $50.00. And good for you that you got them for $4.00. I won't tell him. Consider your F.I.L. D.O.N.E!

I'm in agreement with Mark! :)

I agree with those two. He doesn't have to know how much you spent on him! Unless of course he reads your blog...
My MIL spends $50 on each grand kid and lets everyone know it. But the older kids just want the money these days, so last year, she bought about 25 gifts for the youngest grandchild who still wants presents. It all totalled up to $50, she kept insisting... But the kid got tired of opening presents as did everyone else and soon it was just Grandma and child in the living room....
No one has to know how much you spent. Isn't the the best part of bargains?

Mark-I just feel cheap is all. I should be used to it by now, cheap and easy is my middle name.

A.Marie-Don't encourage Mark!

McVal-It does get to be too much. I'm so sick of the commercialism and expense of it all. I've really had it. But then again here I am trying to buy more. Ugh-I'm an oxymoron or just moron.

Sheila-You win for best comment!

After reading your post title I only have one wonder Santa says "Ho Ho Ho"! *snort*

And the point is to give them the value of $50 without SPENDING $50.
I use to do the same thing though....second guess myself when I spent less and then go buy that person something else.....then they had more valuable things than everyone else, so I had to go buy all the other peoples another gift and so on. It was a vicious cycle with my bank account all the poorer.
So don't be like I was and KNOCK IT OFF!
And send THAT Santa to MY HOUSE!!! ;-)

Yup - subtract $40!! That's their value, and wow, way to go Sonya! You amaze me!

I need a chimney! I want that Santa to come to my house! (Don't tell Hubby.)

When I was buying gifts for everyone, I always counted the value in totalling amounts to make the gifts fair. If you get a $40 gift for $4, it is still a $40 gift.

sluggy-Santa could call me ho all night long! Damn that is nice.
I was thinking about doing exactly what you did. Hmmmm great minds and all that crap. I think that everyone would look shorted if I got him quite a bit more than last year.
You will be proud of me, I got a couple of cheap and small gifts for some of Den's cousins and I'm leaving it at that! I just have to let some of it go.

Jane-Will do and that's a big 10-4!

Francis-I really want that Santa and nothing else. He doesn't even need clothes just bring him nekkid.
I'm going to count it as $40 and just leave it. You all are such a good influence on me. And I'm a bad one on you!
