Leaving

I haven't posted on my blog but I did on Facebook, that Jessie passed away. She is with our other dog, Thor and they are probably peeing on the Pearly Gates. I'm ok with that, I guess.
I miss the love that you get from a dog. We have a cat and he loves me the most. That is the way that I like it. I feed him and he sleeps on the pillow right next to me. But I still miss the little pitter patter of puppy feet. Den and I talked about it and we decided that we are going to hold off on another dog-for a while.
Anna probably won't be moving back home and this will probably be her last summer at home. This bothers me since I finally like her. Mind you, she is now me made over. I always said that I am the only person that I could get along with. I just had to wait 20 years to clone myself.
Everyone wants DJ gone. Sad but I speak the truth. He argues every flipping word that I say. I love him but I wonder how much time I would have to serve if he came down with a case of shaken baby syndrome. I just need an alibi.
Could I replace DJ with a puppy,
SonyaAnn

Aw, I'm so sorry about your puppy.

And, no, you can't replace kids with puppies. I've tried. I just got stuck with both in the end.

I will admit that I cried hard with each dog that has passed away in this house. It's like loosing a member of the family.
As for the kids, it's sad how you go through the teenage years thinking you can't wait for them to move out only to find out that as mature into adults, they're not as bad as you thought. I should know, I've gone through this four times.....

I am so sorry to hear that Jessie has passed away. I can feel your pain. Mamma is correct, they are like family (actually better in my case as they don't talk back, aggravate or argue). I still miss my dog and he's been gone 10 years now. I never did attempt to replace him. I am sure they are in a better place though...

You made me feel every emotion that I have with this post.
Losing a pet is not fun and I've been through it too many times.
Take it easy. And please refrain from killing your kids.

I find that I get along much better with my daughter now that she's and adult and on her own. I definitely don't miss having her under the same roof.

I don't know nuthin' 'but raising no boys, though, so I guess my only advice is to wait it out and maybe you'll get along better when DJ grows up and moves out.

I'm sorry to hear about Jessie. It's been about 30 years since I had a dog around, but we lost one of our cats a few years ago and I was surprisingly heartbroken. Until he was gone, I didn't realize how attached I'd become.

I think it's part of the natural order of things that our children become teenagers and we then want to kill them and we don't feel bad about throwing their asses out of the nest.
When they emerge as adults with brains again, we can actually appreciate them as people.

And once they get out on their own, it's amazing how smart we parents become in their eyes. lol

Boys....I understand them better than the girls. Don't try to be his friend. Just shovel around him and buy some ear plugs. And make your Hubs deal with him if at all possible. And when he hits the magical number, and he doesn't shape up?.... kick his lazy ass out.
Boys learn from shock therapy best....lol
I will pray for you. ;-)

ChiTown Girl-Thanks about Jessie.
Thanks for the heads up about the puppy but I could put the dog in a cage. I may cage DJ.

Mamma has spoken-I'm still so lost without Jessie.
And I'm going to hold you to the whole "I'll like'em later" bit.

Sheila-I agree completely! Pets are way better than most people.
I know that I can't replace Jessie but I miss the whole cold nose on your leg.

Mark-I thought that you said you were a Republican and that you stomped down all of your emotions. Wow, its almost like I stalk you and remember everything that you say! I'm scared for you.

Annie-Anna and I are fine most of the time. That is HUGE for us. HUGE! I thought I was going to kill her when she was in high school. Anna assures me that DJ will get better. I hope so!
George Carlin said that buying a pet is buying a tragedy. That sounds about right!

www.MaisonStGermain.com-That is so young to lose a pup. I'm so sorry for you. I think that it is harder when they are so young. Jessie had a good long life and that makes it a bit easier.
Sending hugs to you!

sluggy-Wow you got all of it right. Anna was my problem and I would lay down the law with her. Den had no effect on her when he got mad. She would just roll her eyes at him. DJ now rolls his eyes at me and walks off. So I get Den to tear him up. Verbally not physically! But there was one day when DJ got Den so mad I thought Den was going to choke him. I was going to let it happen too. Teenagers suck. Even Anna is getting sick of DJ. She called him a lazy prick. I know, it was terrible that she said that but I did agree with her after I told her not to talk to him like that. Why I disciplined her is beyond me. I should have let her beat the snot out of him.

I'm sorry that you lost Jessie. I know how hard it is to lose a pet you love.

Trust me, DJ will grow out of it. And I am with Sluggy....if he doesn't grow out of it, at least you can eventually kick him out.

I'm sorry you lost Jessie!
I feel like I have a clone too. As for DJ.... I know EXACTLY what you're talking about! I'll be your alibi!! Except I suck at lying when it's necessary.

Frances-He is being all sweet right now. He wants a new paintball gun. Mind you, he will be paying for it but I think that he needs to save a bit more for car insurance. I'll be glad when the summer is over.

McVal-Thank you for being my alibi just please work on your ability to lie.
