Not Much Going On

This is what my little garden looked like in March. I also predicted that it would be a crazy hot summer. Yes, I can now add being psychic to my resume.

Here is a close up of my free veg. Riveting, I know!

And here is what I'm dealing with now. Give it free rein and this is what you get, a jungle. I'm off to pull weeds dill and what I thought was lettuce but actually is a weed, I think. It kind of tasted like a weed when I put it in our salad. I also served it for the 4th of July to a bunch of people. Yeah, I do things like this all the time.
I'm a bore,

I'm laughing over here because of all the things I planted in my garden, it's the things I don't like that are doing great. I have okra and halopinio (sp?) peppers coming out the waszoo. No tomatoes, no cucumbers, no zucchini or squash, just okra and peppers.....

I bet your company didn't even notice that you fed them weeds. It obviously didn't kill 'em! When we were kids, my grandma would go out and pick dandelion leaves to put in the dinner salad every night. So, see, you're not the only one. Does that make you feel any better?

And, Mark, you're a pig. That's probably why I adore you!

Mamma has spoken-Why does that happen? We have tomatoes that replanted themselves and seem to be doing ok, they just aren't turning red. Hmmmmm, I just can't win.

ChiTown Girl-Yes, it does make me feel better that you ate weeds. The thing that bothers me is I didn't know they were weeds.

SonyaAnn, just think of yourself as a pioneer. I bet the first person that ate lettuce thought it was weeds too. And what about dill and parsley. Someone had to be the first person to say, "Hey, what's this in the yard? Let's eat it."

Oh, and once at my

Oops!

Once at my sister's I saw these "weeds" that smelled oniony, so I pulled one and it was a wild onion. We pulled more and ate them.

D.Lynn-Thanks for coming to see me and all of these nuts.

Sonya Ann said...

Frances-I'm not going to tell anyone that I fed them weeds though. I'll tell you but not them!

Frances-I wouldn't mind wild onions, all I get is,hmmmmmmm I'm not sure what they were.
