Oh So Connected

Remember how I said before that I wanted to reconnect with our house and yard. Blah, blah, blah. Well reconnecting means work. Why does it take me this long to figure out the true meaning of words?

Easy, peasy grout cleaning tip. Very hot water, Oxi-clean, and an old toothbrush(or your enemy's toothbrush, does a husband count as an enemy?). Scrub and let it dry. Vacuum it up and then mop.
For some reason it takes a while for it to completely whiten but it does work very well.
Here is the damned yard, that I have connected with. Bastard weeds.
And to make things worse, it rained terrible while we were yanking all of the weeds. Den kept saying that we should stop and go to the casino. I was mean and told him to carry on with the pulling.
That is the best that we can do with the back fence.
And this is the wonderful find that I well, found at a garage sale. It was only $5 and next year I will get a huge planter to hang in it. I was hoping that it would draw attention away from the ugly piping for the pool. I think all that it is doing is drawing attention to it. I'll figure something out next year.
Unconnecting,
Sonya Ann

I reconnected with my house this week-end too. Had a leak in the upstairs bathroom that make the kitchen ceiling a brownish-yellow (yea you know what kind of leak). Went to paint it but didn't think it would cover the stain, it was that bad. Sprayed the stuff for dog pee on it and the brownish yellowish stain is gone! I still need to paint it though which means the whole kitchen and family room ceiling but for now since the ugly stain now just looks wet, it can wait. Oh and guess what? Used that dog pee stuff in the boy's bathroom and the smell of pee is gone! Which really is a big deal because too many times I clean that bathroom and it still smells :o(

Mamma has spoken-I hate those kind of home repairs. Good job on figuring out how to get rid of the stain. I had heard that you could pat it with bleach and that would help too. Maybe try vinegar to get rid of the smell.

My you have been busy! I noticed someone used your bathroom in between photos lol! I need to follow your way of thinking - just think about one change at a time because every single thing in this house needs to be redone before I can sell the damn place.
