Spoiled Brat

This is the only picture of the old, ugly chandelier that I could find. This is from our restaurant in a box night. We haven't done this for a while. Now that the summer is over maybe we will have more time to cook and decorate. Or we could go to the casino.  The casino might win out!
This is the new chandelier. And of course, we got it on sale! I'm so much happier with the way that the house looks now. It has taken us months to get to this point. We aren't going for perfect just better. And once we started to look at it like that, decorating wasn't that hard.
The funny thing is we still don't have a new kitchen table and chairs.  DJ breaking a chair, started all this updating. Den and I laugh that we are going to redo everything else and never replace the table.
I guess I will just wait until one falls into my lap. I have been trying to take a more laid back approach to life and decorating. You know like, if something is supposed to be mine it will find its way to me or something like that. Or maybe the coupon gods will send me some kind of a coupon for an awesome table from the super posh furniture store that I have been looking at. Or better yet maybe Den and I will win at the casino and buy all new furniture for the house. Hmmmm, maybe I should just wait and see what happens.
Again, I would like to reiterate the point from a previous post, do not clean your fan or chandelier just replace it! Do I sound like a brat yet? Hmmm, maybe I will even go get my nails done then get a massage. Or perhaps spend some time lounging on the family yacht.
Back to real life,
Sonya Ann

Oh there is something about new that makes you love your house more. Too bad right now I'm on a spending freeze......

Mamma-We were on a spending freeze for years. I think that is why everything needs to be updated. It has been since 2000 that we have done anything. Sad, I know.

I'm with Mamma, unfortunately. It was bad enough when it was just ME who was unemployed. Now that NOBODY is working in this house, there isn't one extra dime going out to anything. It's making the holidays kinda sucky, I must say. :(

We keep promising to rip out the heinous carpet in our basement & put in bamboo flooring, but. . . we haven't made any progress.

ChiTown Girl-I'm so sorry about everyone being unemployed. That sucks terrible. I'll send good vibes and send a prayer or two.

Hawaii Planner-Bamboo flooring sounds like a dream! I would love to put some kind of hardwood floors in the house but we have to pay for college for Anna first. But the little improvements help so much and give me hope that we will be able to get the house to a place where we like it.

Frances-Thank you. It isn't often that we update or get anything new so this was a treat.

Good for you! I hope you get your table for Christmas!!!
Do you have a gift card for one?

McVal-I wish that I did have a gift card! It would have to have about $600 on it. Maybe Santa will bring it.
