Creepy Gambling

You are going to find this hard to believe but you can gamble in our small town of Antioch. Shocking! Especially if you consider the fact that we haven't sold everything that we have to keep up our habit. We went for the first time ever and gave it a shot. It was kind of odd since it was just a little room off of the bar in our local hotel and no one was in there. The bartender stood behind us and watched. He was nice but it was weird. He said that he has nothing to do during the day. He did cheer us on so it made it more fun. But it was a bit odd.
It was nothing like Vegas but my luck was the same in town as it is at every other casino I have ever been in. I can lose money with the best of them! If you need tips on how to lose fast, I'm here for you. Den's luck was the same and he covered most of my loses. We gambled for a hour and we were down $14. So we did better than we usually do in the Chicago or Milwaukee casinos. I'm sure that we will probably try it again but with only 5 machines, I'm sure we will get bored with it. A few other places around town have 5 machines each too. They aren't allowed to have more than 5 machines. Why man, why?
And that is exciting as it gets here in our little town! Maybe we will invite my in-laws over and take them from bar to bar to gamble. Maybe if we drink enough, we will think that it is Vegas.
Closer to home habit,
Sonya Ann

Places around here are just starting to get the machines, too. It's so weird, most are Greek restaurants!! hahaha!

The other day, my family all went out for breakfast, and watched a group of women leave their children at the table while they went in the "room" to play the slot machines. We were there for at least an hour while this went on. I wonder how long those poor things had to sit by themselves while their mothers gambled away their college funds? ;-)

I am like you, can lose money anywhere. Hubby is luckier, won $1000 in Reno one time but way before he met me, so it is likely that will never happen again for him. We keep telling the kids we are spending all their inheritance, and the goal is to have zero dollars in the bank account when we kick off - that impresses them so much.

Last time I went to the gambling boats, I lost 10 dollars in ten minutes on the nickel slots. My son won back the 10 and 21 more dollars in 45 minutes. Needless to say, he had more fun than me ;o)

ChiTown Girl-In Antioch, the machines have to be in a bar and can't have a restaurant. Oh and they can only have 5 machines.
I don't think that I could leave my kids while I went to play. I like to gamble but don't think I could be that selfish.

Cheapchick-I wish I could know what it was like to win. I have only broken even ONCE!
We tell our kids we are going to start selling their stuff to pay for our habit!!!!

mama-Ain't that the truth, it is fun if you win. You would think I would give up! No I'm too stupid.

With enough booze, every place seems like Vegas!

Frances-It cost too much to drink enough to get to "Vegas."
