Mixed Up Monday
I have not gotten the Sunday paper in weeks. Yes, weeks. I'm still alive and not going through withdrawals. I'm just as shocked as you are. But I have ran through a lot of our supplies. We shall see if I spend a lot on shampoo and stuff.
It has been a liberating experience. Clipping was a huge Sunday time suck. So I like having the time to just drink my coffee. And it doesn't feel like we are spending a lot more. I have also given up my beloved CVS.
I feel free, I wonder if you get the same sensation if you burn your bra. Don't worry, I won't let that kind of wrath loose on the world.
The orientation was a time suck for the family members. We drove in the night before and went to bed at about 2am. I drove through the worst storms of my life. And it went on for 5+ hours. Just when I thought that I had gotten us ahead of the storm, someone had to pee and we would stop just long enough for the storms to catch up. Next time, I say piss yourself. It was also great when a road worker was trying to take down a sign in the terrible storm and the wind blew the sign and the man out in front of me. I managed to stop but shook for half an hour after.
The next day we were so tired that we ditched DJ and orientation and we all slept in my van like homeless people. I love my van. We were just refreshed enough to hit the casino. We have this silly game that we normally play. We each put in a $20 before we are leaving a casino, each person gets to pick a machine, we max it out and then we each get a spin. Donna picked the machine and I hit for $480, Den cashed it in. That is the largest amount I have ever hit for. I used the money to pay for the rest of the trip. I had money set aside for the trip but I told DJ that if I went over, he had to pay for some of it out of his account. He is lucky like I have never seen. I won only so he didn't have to pay.
$100.49 Google(blog writing)
$84 Pinecone research
$25 Amazon gift code that I won from Donna Freedman at Surviving and Thriving!!!!!
Total $388.58 for our 2014 Christmas!
I would love to get a bit more for this fund say another $1000 or so. Maybe I can win it! Giggle. I'll just tell DJ that I'm paying for Christmas out of his money.
Another thing I forgot to tell you about...............................
Remember how Guido ate my best pair of flip-flops? Well I bought an adorable replacement pair which lasted all of three wearings and then the strap between the toe gave. You know how I have said before that setting shoes on the table is bad luck. I know that you have bad luck when you break a shoe string. Well, having a dog chew your shoes and then breaking the toe strap of a flippy is a terrible curse on your feet. I broke my swear toe. The corner of Anna's dresser is a fucker.
I need a vacation but one where I don't have to drag a husband behind me having a fit and one where I don't wear flip-flops.
Leaving and behind,
