Wicked Wednesday

We are out of here! I wish that I was able to party as hard as this bunch! The real question is will we make it past 10pm?

Moshed Whatever Day

I am so far behind in life. UGH! Sorry about being MIA, it happens this time of year. I'm so so so looking forward to getting back in a routine. That has to say something about how crazy it has been.
Where to start, where to start? Hmmmm, Anna is officially off the tit. Yay, tit.
Anna graduated from EIU. So the Saturday before Christmas we made a run down there and honestly, it was such a whirlwind trip, I don't recall much. We did get to meet Anna's boyfriend's Mother, sister and Grandmother. They are adorable and so so wholesome. Anna said it is only a matter of time before they met the real us. They are more southern in their ways and we are rude northerners. Hey, at least, I own it.
We had a really good Christmas and enjoyed seeing everyone. It was a hurried Christmas since we lost the weekend before because of Anna's graduation. But the gifts were opened and the alcohol was dranked so it worked out.
I think that I enjoyed this holiday so much because we drank pretty much the entire time. Now I know that I say I like a drink here and there but I don't drink everyday. Well, except for now. One drink led to another and I became happy and full of the holiday spirit. And that spirit would be alcohol.
The one thing that I said that I wanted to do this holiday season was to walk downtown main street in Antioch. It is always lit up and the shops have beautiful displays. So after Christmas and on our way to hit the Christmas clearance at Menards, we stopped in town for a quick peek.

This is one of the windows. It is just gorgeous. Timeless Treasures went all out this year. A lot of the stores try to one up each other but I'm thinking that TT won.
They also had Dickens statues out. They were a bit creepy but it was interesting to walk the town and read about each character.
There was also a shop set up to tell about the making of the "people." The crazy thing is the half painted man in the picture looks like our town doctor. Den said at least he finally found a way to contribute.

During our trek through town, we stopped at the local watering hole for a refreshment and a little gambling. There were two really drunk guys there and they were completely annoying until I had a few drinks. And then I realized that they were really great and I misjudged them.
The rest of my pictures after the pub looked like the one above. I'm not quite sure why but Den laughed pretty hard at me the next day. Oh and I fell off the curb and smacked into my van pretty hard that night. I'm not sure what got into me.
So I think that you are caught up in Sonya's world.
Sober?

Fabulous Friday

This is brilliant!!! Go to Poppytalk for the complete details!
You cut all of your trashed clothes into strips and then weave them! We can start making all of our holiday gifts for next year now! Honey, I'm weaving you some knickers!
Too excited,

Griswold Christmas!

Here's a Christmas game that you can play with yourself while dealing with all of your family members, this lovely holiday season. Try and figure out which one of your family member is most like a character from Christmas vacation. This is who I'm like.
Trust me, it is better to play this game in your head than it is to tell your MIL what you really think of her or her dried out stuffing.

Happy Christmas Eve

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas eve. And just in case you need a little naughty in your day, jump over here. My guess is that this is the Santa that would visit me. I'm not saying I'm naughty, its just.................
Have a wonderful day,

Christmas Cards From the Grave

Unbeknownst to Den, I had been saving the cards that his Grandpa had been sending him/us. Grandpa passed away in May. The birthday and Christmas cards that Grandpa had sent throughout the years, I packed away especially the ones that had a special note in them.
Well, I pulled out the last handwritten Christmas card that Grandpa had sent and put it front and center. I then, pointed it out to Den.
Our conversation went a little like this............................
Me-"There is a special card that I put in front." (I watched Den's face because I know how much it will mean to him that Grandpa is still a part of our Christmas.)
Den-(Opens the card and reads it and then looks horrified)"Grandpa sent us a card?"
I really think that its me. I cause the problems in this house. I really meant for that to be a special moment and for Grandpa to be with us. Instead, Den thought Grandpa was sending us cards from the grave. I saw it as thoughtful and he saw it as creepy. How has our marriage made it this far?

Fabulous Friday

I love these and they would make an awesome gift! So if Santa sees me drinking, does that mean he doesn't take his eyes off of me?
Have you made any gifts for this year?

Intoxicated Past

Leave it to Anna to introduce us to our latest naughty indulgence. It's called Drunk History and it is screaming funny. They have historians get beyond drunk and have them tell a bit of history. Then they have famous actors, act out what the historians are saying. Here is a clip of one of them. Honestly, rent the series. Just don't watch it while you are eating, more than a few upchuck. Why didn't they have lessons like this in high school? I would have paid attention to history. And I probably would have learned about the same amount. Some of the historians are obviously drinkers because they held it together way better than some of the others. We may make this a drinking game at our house. I'm just not so good at history so I'll have to play drunk Star Wars or sci-fi or something. Then I would rock!
Drink and learn,

Wicked Wednesday

This would totally happen with my son or anyone's son! Then they would come in the house and be like, "what?" Because they would have no idea that they did it. Or they might try to blame you.
Mayhem month,

Mish Moshed And Lost Tuesday

Dis you ever stop and think there was a higher power at work? I have and it was called Google Maps. I left on my quest to get DJ last Friday. It was another 12 hour haul. I'm still not familiar with the route yet so I let the GPS bark out orders and I just follow. Well, someone or something intervened and I ended up in the middle of nowhere. After about 30 minutes, I was a bit worried. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE was around. See the above picture, yeah that was all I saw. Then I started thinking maybe Google maps was having me drive out to the middle of nowhere to kill me. It would have been easy enough. Yes, I think about these things.
But after another 30 minutes, I realized something else. I was completely alone! As in Ms. Sonya could drop the hammer and haul A double S. I'm not saying I was speeding, it just felt like it.
On the return trip, I went the normal way and stayed on the major highways. That was better because it was all night time driving. I tell you what, that boy better visit me in the nursing home.
I also managed to find time to make a bunch of candy bowls to give out. Two of these things don't belong here, can you pick them out? I ran out of meshy stuff and those got saran-wrap. Shhhhhh, don't tell on me.
I did manage to get out of some of the cookie making. Den started on Friday while I was gone. But I still made two different kinds on Saturday. Then on Sunday, we went to my MIL's little get together for her siblings. It was nice to see everyone but still over-priced for crappy food.
The cat is still an ass. He has been ripping bits off of the tree since we put it up. He also has been adding them to his bowl like a garnish. We added cayenne pepper and pepper flakes to the tree water to keep them away. Our cat Harry, won't stop drinking the water. My cats adapt like the plague.
I'm like everyone else this year, I am running on overdrive. I have to finish wrapping, make cookie plates, make more food, and hand stuff out. Oh yeah, and Anna is graduating. We are in the homestretch and it will be over soon. Just a few more baby steps or eating an elephant or something like that. Just keep the analogies coming!
Where and who am I,
?

TLove or Too Much Love

I'm so happy with TMobile. I just thought I should share. And I'm not getting a penny for this either. Damnit, I could use it for Christmas money. I would be an awesome spokesperson. I would be like, "Buy this shit." How much do you think they would pay me for that? I'm thinking lots.
Anywho, our stolen lovingly borrowed wifi signal from our neighbor is sucking. It only works some of the time and when it is working, it is spotty. But hey, her new BF installed it. Hopefully, he is better in bed than with electronics. She offered to show me naked pictures of him. WOW, a 60 year old man with many health issues. I'm good. Can we say, raging semi! Yes, this shit really happens around here.

Sorry I bet it will take you a while to get the naked man thoughts out of your head. Why do you come here? I know I ruin a lot of people's day. Or is it to feel better about your life? I could see that happening too.
Where was I going with this? Oh yes, a hot spot(its easy to keep your mind in the gutter at my place). Since the wifi isn't the greatest(not that I'm really complaining, its free and overly nice of her to let us use it. And to be honest, she is one of my closest friends. She has been in my life for 20 years and she is as messed up as I am. Birds of a feather and all that. She just needs to keep her bedroom windows closed when raging semi shows up. Yeah, we had to have a talk about that too.)  But to get back to my cell phone, TMobile has unlimited data, it just slows down after your allotted data. Ours is one GB. So I have been using my phone as a hot spot since it is FREE! It is a bit slow if there is a lot to load on a page but it is a lot better than the wifi. Again, I'm so happy but probably not as much as my neighbor, they spend a lot of time in her bedroom.

I also have a tip for when you are traveling. I've had Verizon and TMobile and both lost signal at one point when traveling to see DJ. Sooooooooo, load your trip into your GPS app on your smartphone. I use google maps and love it. Then take a screen shot of the directions. That way if your GPS cuts out just go to your photos and you have your directions there. See I'm good for a quick tip and a miserable mental picture.
Run away screaming,
Sonya Ann

Fabulous Friday

I found this on Pinterest and couldn't find the original link. So whoever posted it, I wish you well.
I love this, its donut holes, candy corn and a black marker. Ok, fine, maybe not a black marker. I was just feeling a bit lazy and didn't want to pull out the cake decorating markers. Look, that stuff is at the back of the cabinet on the highest shelf.
Maybe lazy,

Not Kneady Bread

Hey, have I ever said that I'm lazy? Oh and have I mentioned that I'm cheap or would it be poor? You decide. I'm saying that it is a little bit of everything.
Ok so I started out with an easy bread recipe and then tweaked it and made it even easier. I don't like to knead bread or fart around with it. And this is how this bread was born or would it be bread?
Again, with anything that I talk about on this blog-ALL CHOICES ARE YOURS, continue at your own risk. I may blow you up or make you poop. It really could happen.
Fell free to twerk this recipe all that you want.

Not Kneady Bread

1 1/4 cup of warm water
1 package of dry yeast
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp veg oil
3ish cups flour

Add the yeast to the warm water and stir.
Add the salt, sugar, veg oil
Add 2ish cups of flour and stir. I use a wooden spoon. Stir in as much flour as needed until you get a ball that isn't sticky. It should pull away from the sides of the bowl.
Put dough in a greased bowl.  Let it rise for as long as you want.
*feel free to punch it down after an hour or so. I didn't but if you need to get your aggressions out, then feel free. I normally forget about my dough until its time to make dinner.*
Place in a well greased pan.
Bake at 375 for 45ish minutes. I always check after 35.

This is a really good starting place if you have never made bread before. The inside is warm and fluffy but its the crust that makes it. Its all crunchy and hot. YUMMY!
Den even made plans for the next time that I made it. He wanted me to bake it on a 9x13 and smash it flat so there was more crust and then make it into sausage/hot dog rolls. He may actually get his wish. LOL. I aim to please, well I aim to please when its an easy request. Otherwise, he just gets the blank stare.
Baker's man or woman,
Sonya Ann

Mish Moshed Tuesday

Let's just called Mish Moshed Monday, Mish Moshed whatever day. I'm having a hard time keeping up. How do people with small kids and 40 hr a week jobs do it? I know I'm doing it wrong, I'm just not sure how to fix it.
The above gift is for the owner of the company that Den works for. It was another stunning Christmas party.
The center pieces had over 40 roses in them.
It was held at one of the most posh places in the area. It was over the top. And everyone that attended got a gift. I got a porcelain angel and Den got a survival tool.
Yup, there was even a pianist. And the food was of course, fabulous.
From the top of the line country club to our white trash house. And why yes, those are fly swatters hanging from the tree. The cat is afraid of the fly swatters. To be honest, if I was quick enough, I would swat him on the ass with it. I am just too slow so I chase after him when he has been bad, smacking the floor and yelling at him. He's not a fly swatter fan. I felt like an idiot the other day when I thought about how I looked chasing him and then Den did the same thing the next day. We are idiots together.

And Voila, the finished product. We got a smaller tree this year and I'm really happy with it. Den normally wants to shove a tree twice the size of the room in front of the window.
This weekend, we picked up the last of the ingredients for the cookies and bought the last three gifts. I said I was done and then I found these........................
I'm sure DJ will drink water out of his, after all he is my child.

So I'm calling it for the year! This is how much I brought in for FREE!!!
$274.73     Bank of America credit
$100.49     Google(blog writing)
$174          Pinecone research
$350.49     BP
$25            Amazon gift code from Saving Star
$25            Bass Pro Gift card from MyPoints
$10            Chili's gift card from MyPoints
$25            Amazon gift code that I won from Donna Freedman at Surviving and Thriving!!!!!
$50            Gamestop gift code from e-rewards
$4              Liquor rebate
$134.40     Hotel refund
$60            Free gas cards from Silverton converted to cash
$15            Sears bonus giftcard for purchasing over $50
$20            Amazon gift codes from Swagbucks
Total $1268.11 for our 2014 Christmas! This was a really great year! BP and Bank of America treated me well. And just a reminder, we don't carry a balance and we don't pay interest so its all free money.
And we spent on our Christmas gifts this is $1304.53. Not too shabby. But we are planning on giving the kids some cash this year so that we will have to cover ourselves. Well, Anna will get cash, DJ will get a note saying that I'll be rationing it out. If I count the cash, our total will be $1754.53. I like the first total better. LOL. I'm pretty proud of this years outcome. I'm hoping that next year, I'll be able to cover the cash that we give out too. Keep dreaming, Sonya.
So are you done shopping? Did you use points/miles to pay for your Christmas?
Done and done,
Sonya Ann

A Drunk's Side Business

How completely AWESOME is this fold down Murphy's bar? These would be great inside or outside. If you are interested in the complete directions, go to This Old House.
And since I'm cheap, I'm thinking that old pallets would be the wood to use.
Remember back in the day when den made this in our game room?
So making the bar would be way easier than making a fold down table.
I would buy one of the Murphy's bars. Hell, with the way that we drink, I would buy 3. It wouldn't be too crowded in the shower for one, would it?
Thinking and building,

Fabulous Friday

This would be an awesome gift for little kids to make for their family. Maybe its best that I don't have little kids anymore. And don't offer to give me your kids. You are a funny bunch!

Open It All?

So I think this post is a reminder or a warning, I'm not sure where we are going yet.
I got this AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME coupon in the mail! Well, Den got it but what's his is mine, right? Its from a super posh jewelery store by us. And they sent us a $50 off of $50 coupon! Oh hell yes, did that help. We got my sister in law stunning earrings for $32! The box they came in was worth the $32.
So the moral to the story is open all of your junk mail! Yes, open it ALL. Unless, it is a card from one of the nut jobs that Den works with. Then proceed with caution. Oh hell, just open it and then post about it. It makes for an interesting read, a the very least.
Check your mail,
Sonya Ann

Exhausted Mish Moshed Monday

Your getting Mish Moshed Monday on Tuesday. Things just aren't going as planned for me. So if I seem like a whiner or this post seems flat, well its because I'm spent. But to be honest, I'm not really flat, I'm way opposite. So if you need some excitement when my rambling post is flat and boring, think about my chest not being flat. That might help.
Sorry, I got side-tracked on trying to find ways to keep you interested in the post.
The above is the Thanksgiving project this year. We made wreaths and it was fun and awesome. Not the cheapest project but I got the wreathes for half off and bought the decorations from the Dollar Store. Its going in the win category.
My stolen lovingly borrowed wi-fi signal is just about non-existent. We get our signal from a neighbor. She changed her router and now it isn't working well. It has taken me hours to post to this point. That might explain my crabbiness. I'm very determined to post something for you, appreciate that.
Dearest Anna is officially done with school. Her only chore left is to walk across the stage and collect her diploma. She plans on falling. When she said that, I laughed really hard. We might be pessimists.
We also closed our joint checking and savings accounts on Friday. YAY ME! That is a stress that I won't miss. She already has a ton of hours at her cleaning job lined up. Hmmmm, when she is in charge, the shit gets taken care of. Funny how that works.
Her vacation and reward to herself for graduating was to spend a few extra days at home just chillin. Never do I feel like being in this house is relaxing. Vegas maybe but not Antioch. She earned it and then some. She told me that her 4th grade class went all out for her last day teaching. They bought her gift cards and made her pictures.  She said she cried and had a gift bag and note for each child telling them how special they were. One proud mama here. And to think all those years of complaining/nagging/yelling at her paid off.

I drove my pain in the ass lovely youngest child back to Ball State on Sunday. It was a 12 hour and 6 minute round trip quest. He looks like he's not eating at all now and he is getting headaches a lot. I suspect that its from lack of food. He makes me nuts. I give him money and it goes for Magic cards. I packed up a large bag of microwavable junk for him to take back. It's something, though I'm not sure if it is nutritious or not but it makes me feel better to know he has something to eat.
Den and I did manage to sneak away from the madness, run a few errands and find a garage sale. We bought this beautiful and dusty divider for the laundry room. The woman said she paid $300 for it, we paid $10. And let me tell you, it is way too posh for our laundry room. We need to move to a more fitting house for our new find!
This is our super ugly and hard to hide water heater. Why the damned builder put it smack dab in the middle of the room is beyond me? Well, it was too save money but it makes it impossible to finish the room. Asshole! Blame it on the grumpiness, ok.
Its a little better.
And the other side before.
And after! I'm happy with it. It makes it a bit more crowded but I'll take it. We really need to gut and move everything in that little room to make it so it functions better but we also need a ton of money. I think I keep saying that.
We also managed to find time to go to Tmobile and switch from Verizon. It went as expected and lots of phone calls followed. We had to pay a termination fee of $500 but will get it back on a gift card. I'm not sure how I feel about Tmobile yet. The new Iphone that I got is amazing. We had some issues coming back from IN since I use my phone for my GPS. When DJ was in charge of the GPS, there were no problems, when Anna was in charge it was a mess and I'm thankful we didn't end up in Mexico. I'm pretty sure it was Anna that was the problem.
I got $30.36 from BP, $24.73 from Bank of America and $18 from Pinecone!
So my total is.....................
 $274.73          Bank of America credit
$100.49     Google(blog writing)
$174          Pinecone research
$350.49     BP
$25            Amazon gift code from Saving Star
$25            Bass Pro Gift card from MyPoints
$10            Chili's gift card from MyPoints
$25            Amazon gift code that I won from Donna Freedman at Surviving and Thriving!!!!!
$50            Gamestop gift code from e-rewards
$4              Liquor rebate
$134.40     Hotel refund
$60            Free gas cards from Silverton converted to cash
$15            Sears bonus giftcard for purchasing over $50
$20            Amazon gift codes from Swagbucks
Total $1268.11 for our 2014 Christmas!
It just keeps rolling in! To be honest, I'm so done shopping. I just have to come up with some cash for the kids. Its like I like them or something.
Cranky and bloated,
Sonya Ann

Free E-Gift Giving

I've been working on this little project for a while. You would think giving free e-gifts would be easy but not so. Let me Splain.
I was trying to come up with a way to give gifts without spending a penny. Enter the E-card! And then things went south but I sorted them for you! Give me a few sentences and I'll tell you a tale of E-woe.
How cute are these E-cards? I know, they are over the top adorable and you can send them for free with Punchbowl! They have many free cards and not just for Christmas.

Then I started thinking about gifts that you could include in your E-card. Saved up your swagbucks, you could cash in your bucks for a gift code for the recipients favorite store. No money spent!
There are many different reward sights that offer gift codes and would work nicely in the card. Again, not a penny spent.
And this is where my problem started, I wanted to include a link to a free movie in the card. Sigh, all of the free E-card sights didn't let you link to anything. But Punchbowl will let you put the address in the card . Yay, Punchbowl. Just make sure that you shrink the font size of the address. The recipient can't scroll down in the card.
And Christmas Story is free on Youtube! Here's the link! You could also include a song from Youtube or a funny video clip in the card. Again, your money is still in your pocket.
This is going to take a while and you are going to have to play around with it but it is adorable and easy to personalize. Even Den thought this was a good idea. He kept asking me about what movies you could include. Normally, he just grunts at me. He may be getting an E-card for Christmas.
I would make an E-card  and get it just how you want it and then send a copy to yourself and see how it looks. I've sent myself many, many, many cards trying to get it right. I love me and have the cards to prove it.
Can you think of anything else that you cold include in the card? Don't say porn. You didn't think that I would write an entire post and not say something naughty, did you?
E-Love,
Sonya Ann
