Tied Back And Junk Tuesday

See all my saving of crap is working out. I made this adorable jar of dried apples for my bestie.
All the little ribbons, bows and anything else off of gifts or whatever, I save and reuse. Don't ask about the state of my junk drawer. We will call it a work in progress. It would be a lot better if I got rid of the 18 decks of cards. We get them free from the casino. Oh and don't look at all of the cinnamon that is at the bottom of this picture. No worries, I didn't reuse that.
My MIL finished the white curtains for us. I really like them. Den said they looked like a sheet. GRRRRRRRR! I just didn't like how you could see the rod at the top and how the blinds were lower from the rod. One thing leads to another.
There were 4 strips of bamboo left over from the shades and Den saved them. See he saves odds and ends too. Again, we will not be talking about the state of our junk drawer. I just got an idea! What if I get some shelves and move the junk drawer under the sink? Hmmmmm, I feel another project coming on.
We bought 2 strips of metal and Den sawed them in two. So we had 4 pieces then he glued and screwed.
I love it. For about $2, we went from something that we both weren't happy with to something that we are pleased with. See again, saving junk saves you money!

Also don't forget about my giveaway!!!!
So there wasn't too much that went on this weekend. Boring weekends are the best. We did watch some Stargate SG1 and Deadliest Catch, we live on the wild side!

Window looks lovely! I can not get your book, amazon hates me.

I love the fix, but it is funny what small things drive us bananas. I looked at the first picture and just saw a pretty pair of white curtains on a window covered by a bamboo shade. It never dawned on me there was anything wrong with it the way it was. After the slight change it really does look much cozier. ( And that lack of observation is precisely why I am not an interior designer)

Love the tiebacks, it finishes it off nicely and even better it was cheap!

Oh, it looks so much better now! I notice things like that. I save all that stuff from packages, too. Why wouldn't a person. It saves me money in the long run.

Janie Junebug-It doesn't feel like talent, it feels like poor. LOL

Frances-Well thank you, my dear.

Miserlymac-Oh Amazon and I have had our fair share of problems. I understand.

Anne in the kitchen-Thank you. I never see fault with the pictures that people post about their homes. But it was bothering both of us. It isn't normal for us to find such a cheap fix. We aren't talented about looking outside the box.

Cheapchick-Why can't everything be a cheap fix?

Practical Parsimony-It really is about finding a use for it.
