Fabulous Friday

I love this. There were no links with this idea but I think we all get it. Cheap jewelry from say a garage sale and some old sheet paper and you have yourself a beautifully wrapped gift. I like when things are wrapped outside the box. Wait that didn't sound right.

Very pretty gift wrap and thanks in advance for some inspiration. I am supposed to go to a center for adults with special needs and help them make pinwheels as part of the decor for an upcoming fundraiser. The theme is Sounds of Summer and it is a musical event, so I will use sheet music as the interior of the pinwheel. I had been wondering what to do and now I know.

Speaking of sheet music and stuff....last week at the restaurant supply store they had bins of older party supplies...you know hats, cups, tablecloths, etc. Everything was .50¢ a package.
I bought a ceiling hanging musical notes thingy, a set of music note party eyeglasses and a music note Happy Birthday banner.
I will send these to College Boy next year for his birthday when he is living at college. I should have gotten the music note cups so they could play beer pong too, huh? lolz

Gill - That British Woman-I hope that I find a few interesting things at garage sales to wrap with this summer.

Anne in the kitchen-Wow, you make me feel so smart and inspiring. Mostly people look at me and think, Thank God I'm not like her.

sluggy-I think Beer Pong will be the only thing that the dear child will be thinking about.
You are a good mom for sending him all of that stuff. And a great budgeter form getting it all so cheap.

Beautiful wrapping! I used to wrap like this. Now, I just throw it in a bag. LOL!

You are so funny, I have lots of sheet music but hub's would kill me if I wrapped present with his music, he is such a grouch.

Frances-I know I'm trying to get away from the bag thing. But we will see if I actually wrap something the next time that I have to give a gift or if I will throw it in a bag as per normal.

Out My Window-Hahaha, yeah probably don't wrap with something that your hub uses. I think you would eventually get caught.

That is a very good idea. I will remember it. However I am so ham fisted it will look as if the cheap jewellery is the gift and I just didn't wrap it up properly

Wow that is such a great idea and so pretty! And what's more I have all this "antique jewellery" (i.e. crap stuff) that I could sledgehammer apart and make into artful gifts. Seriously though, it is lovely. I'm not sure I could actually tie the bow that neatly though.

Funnily enough, my ex and I bought a house in Florida, initially as an investment and then with the idea of being nearer to his parents and having them get some use out of it too. So my sister and I flew out from the UK together for a week to look for furnishings, did all the show homes etc., both came back with straw twine and so on to artistically tie around the beautifully matched towels in our bathrooms back in our respective homes (just like the show homes). But for Pete's sake, that's why they are called "show homes", 'cos nobody lives in em, nobody has kids with shoes the size of banana boats clogging up the hallway and I suspect nobody can tie the perfect bow on an artfully decorated gift - or is it just me? Please tell me I'm not alone. It feels so sad being so unaccomplished. Anna

Jenny Woolf-I'm terrible at these things too maybe its why I post them. I so want to be able to make and give cutsie things.

Treaders-Thank you so much, I needed a laugh more than you will ever know! You, my dear, are not alone. I'm terrible, terrible at crafty crap. I try with all of my heart and then it looks like a mess. I keep trying though, that has to count for something, right?
