Fabulous Friday

I found a new site that I love, its called My Ugly Split-level. I completely understand how they feel about trying to make a house they don't like into a home. I'm living it.
Now on to the project, pickle jars that's a big check on that one. Paint and knobs and that's another check. I feel the itch to eat and create. AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!

I grew up half my childhood in a split level. Originally, there wasa 120 year old farm house, and when my dad got a quote that to upgrade basic electical, plumbing, and other features to make the house safe let alone improved, it was more than the cost to build from scratch, so a new house was built behind the old, and the old was torn down. He decided on a split level because it was the most cost efficient for the needs of our family. So dull and boring-but a lot of that was the practical depressin era raised parents that were all about practicality. We had full creativity in our bedrooms which might expalin my awful bright yellow walls, when the rest of the hsoue was off white and beige. Now, I'm married to a practical beige man-housing wise, but he is a photogrpher and artist so gets his creativity and color that way.

That's cute! Some people are so creative and crafty. I'm not crafty until the pumpkins come out.

Awe and wonder. I don't think I have a creative molecule in my body, but I am a most excellent appreciator.

That's a nice blog. I follow another one called My Crappy House but she doesn't post very often.

What a great idea for cannisters! We eat a lot of pickles, so could have jars pretty quickly. Oh, wait, we don't use cannisters. LOL!

SAM-When I was young, I wanted to find a house and fix it up. Now that I am an adult, I think that building a house would be the way to go. We bought our house and the guy sold it as it was completely fixed up. I was 23 and Den was 21 when we bought it. Yeah, we had no idea what we were getting into. Well 20 years later and we still curse him when we find something stupid that he did in the house like wiring the house for 23 phone lines.

sluggy-I've been making my own freezer pickles cuz cukes are on clearance. Get your eyeball fixed and drive over!!!

ND Chic-I have never had any luck with pumpkins. Den usually ends up doing mine, well he did back when the kids were little.

Elephant's Child=I try but it normally doesn't work out. My crafts end up in the fail pile.

sluggy-I still think that you are better off than my nasty tri-level.

We are: Clamco-If nothing else, it makes me feel so much better to know that other people really don't like their houses either.

Frances-I just love to look at all of the things that people come up with though. And this is why my list is never done.
