Emotional Smell

I love everything to do with Gain. And what do ya know, I'm not getting one penny for that glowing endorsement. Damn it, maybe I need an agent.
Anyways, I was poking around in Anna's closet and I noticed that it smelled AMAZING. And that amazing smell was coming from one of DJ's college supply boxes. Normally the smell coming from DJ's stuff is not so good. Like his closet the other day, I could not for the life of me find the stench and then I realized I was a little scared to see what it actually was. Well after a week, I couldn't take it anymore and dug it out. DJ had left some workout clothes that were wet from sweat in a backpack and it got shoved in the back of his stuff. Yeah, YUCK!
Ok back to the good smell in my house. I took one of the dryer sheets and stuck it to the back of the fan. Dear Lord, I was in Gain Heaven. The entire upstairs smelled of cleanliness. And now I know what I will be doing when I get the boy moved out, I will be setting up a dozen fans lined with dryer sheets and fanning out his closet.
On a sort of sad note, this will probably be the last time that I will have to air out the boy's closet, it seems that he probably won't be coming back next summer and will have a paid internship somewhere else. I'm not sure how I feel about this. Happy? Sad? Stinkfree?
Gaining,
Sonya Ann

I too love the smell of Gain much better than Tide.

At least he will be getting some paid work experience which is worth a heck of a lot in the real working world......

I LOVE Gain dryer sheets!!!! I was buying Gain detergent for a while, but I recently tried Purex with the Mountain Breeze scent. I actually love to do laundry now because the house smells so fresh when I use that stuff.

Gill - That British Woman-He is working hard to set himself up for a good life and I'm proud of that but it is bothering me a bit that there is a very good chance that he won't be coming back next summer. Or ever. He's a good kid when he isn't stinking up the place.

We are: Clamco-Oh, oh I tried Purex too because I won it from Frances. It smells so great!

Good for DJ - a paid internship is awesome. Don't believe for a second he won't be back though. I am sure he will figure out how to show up the odd long weekend.

Cheapchick-Ok I'm going to hold you to that. I will miss the boy.

You will get used to him not being there for the summer. Son3 stayed in the city this summer to work, but had to make a short trip home in June, and is coming for a long August weekend and that will be all she wrote until Christmas. I have been busy and have only missed him the 2 weeks he was working in remote Va. and had no cell service at all. Funny but a phone call a couple of times a weeks is all that is needed now.

Who says you can't go visit HIM next Summer when you need a dose of DJ?
I wish you'd come get a dose of Sluggy too...sniff, sniff.....
Heck come see me and I'll buy you all the Gain your little heart could desire...of course we'll have to wait for a sale and use coupons.

I figure that you will feel all of those contradictory things next summer. Often simultaneously. You can decide which is dominant over a drink. Or three.

I cried when Favorite Young Man left for college. He held my hand in the car. I wish I still had his stinky closet, and it's been seventeen years since he left.

Love,
Janie

I love the smell of Gain too! Used to only use Tide, then found out Gain was cheaper and smelled better! Now not only to I use Gain for my laundry, but also found the Gain dish soap! Smells great!

I'm torn between wanting Kazi to move out but keeping her cats with me! That's the sad state of motherhood around here - the cats are much less trouble!!

Anne in the kitchen-I know that I will get over him being gone but he was more enjoyable this summer. He fought with his dad and not me. Maybe that was it. Normally, I was the one that the kids fought with. This time Den and DJ seem to be at odds. But don't fear, Anna and I can still fight with the best of them and she doesnt even live here.

sluggy-You would never get rid of me and then you would be posting about what a pain in the ass I am.
I'm trying to get rid of the money that I charged on the credit card and then I will have some free cash. What was I thinking?!?!?!?!

Elephant's CHild-How do you know me this well?????? Are you stalking me or do I over-share?

Janie Junebug-THAT IS SO SAD! And it scares me a bit. I guess that I will just have to come up with a plan to move in with him or something. I'm sure that will make him feel better too. ;p

Rachel-I haven't tried the dish soap. I'll add that to the list.
I love to soak our clothes in the Gain crystals-little bead things. OMG! Then I air dry it. It's one of my favorite things.

Jane-OH MY GOD! Last night we said the same thing. My neighbors, the one that lost both of their children. Their son died in a car accident. Their daughter died of cancer. Their daughter had a little girl named Lilly and she loves us. She says all the time that she wants to live with us. SHe spent the evening with us and is a bit crazy. She is 6 and played swords with DJ and is wild but normal. We decided that cats were way easier than kids.

I think you will adjust to your clean smelling empty nest. It might take a while, but you will.

And he will come back.

Frances-It is kind of hard when its the last one.
I'm holding you to that!
