Makin' It And Savin' It Sunday

The Penny Hoarder had me at free travel! They have listed 101 ways to get free stuff and some of them I didn't know about!!!! Have any to add to the list? I know that if you are a smoker, you can sign up with Marlboro for free gifts. It would probably be cheaper to quit but what do I know.

Universities don't just advertise for medical guinea pigs. I once served as a juror and was fed for the day and made $100.

I was paid to try and fool a lie detector another time. When I lied and succeeded, I was paid additional money. The listing was from a university paper.

Senior centers provide free attorneys for some things like wills and power of attorney, etc. Plus, there is a free number to get advice on other matters.

Talk like a pirate day scored free food. And, dressing like a cow scored free food from Chick fil A.

I bought sweet potatoes from a farmer, and he gave me free white potatoes and greens. Yes, it a fluke, but the grocery store never invites me to take all I want while they load 40 lb boxes of sweet potatoes I only pay a quarter a pound in bulk.

It sounds like a lot of work to track down all those freebies. Well done to those who are not as lazy (or suspicious) as I am. I am often looking for the catch...

Linda-In my entire life, I have never heard of anyone getting paid to lie and to a lie detector. THAT IS AWESOME!!!!
I think that you have come across some pretty great freebies. The most I get is maybe something out of the free box at garage sales.
And I need to find your farmer!!!!

I got a free (slightly used) kiddie kitchen set from a neighbor whose kiddo had tired of it. Granddaughter will love it the next time she is here. I also was shopping at Publix the other night near closing time when a store employee offered me a package of uncooked salmon in a chili lime sauce. It was one of their deli pre-assembled options that had not sold that day and they cannot keep them overnight. Woo hoo! Our litigious society finally paid off for me, since they are afraid to sell 2nd day prepped food.

I am skeptical of most freebies, though I did register online for 2 tea bags of Twinings tea. It came with a coupon for my next purchase which helps to sustain my late night tea habit. Any coffee brands want me to sample their product? I am available

Some of the freebies want way more info than I am willing to give.

Anne in the kitchen-I agree with you some companies want blood and stool samples and first born just for a little freebie.
I scored a few free granola bars years ago at the grocery store. I normally don't get a lot of free stuff by way of couponing. Even when I roll things at CVS it seems that it is only slightly less costly than Walmart. And I try not to use coupons at Walmart anymore, they are evil when it comes to accepting them.
