Bestie's Baked Bacon

This is a wonderful tip that I got from my bestie. Baking bacon!!! Who knew? She has sworn by it for years but I guess I liked being splattered by popping bacon grease too much to give it a shot. Until now!!!
Line cake pans with aluminum foil(don't use cookie sheets because the grease could spill) and then lay the bacon out. Bake at 375. It is a tough one to call the time, it will really depend on your oven. It took me 25 minutes to bake it. You are going to have to watch it. I baked it for 15 minutes and then flipped the bacon over and went 10 on the other side. She said that you really have to watch the second side because it cooks faster. Its sort of a feel it out thing. But this is way easier than using a pan.
And the great thing is that it tasted JUST LIKE BACON! ;p Plus the house smelled amazing. It was like a bacon candle. Really, I may just bake bacon for the smell in the house.

Someone showed me once how to cook bacon in the microwave - it tastes like bacon too and no mess as it's laid on paper towels with another paper towel on top. OK, now I'm craving bacon!

You could make bacon candles. You know there must be someone making them for times you want the aroma only.

I like cleaning the whole stove and counters and wall, so I might not bake bacon.

I have been doing this for years (ever since I married into a family with 4 kids :)) Way easier. You do have to clean your oven more often but worth it. I keep it low though, 325 degrees - time it for 10 minutes and then have a peek to see if you need to do it a few more minutes.

I've baked bacon exactly the way you said to do it, but I don't remember being able to get it crispy. Will you please come to my house and bake bacon with me? It's a little jaunt to Florida where the sun shines all the time and we have fresh orange juice (I'm such a liar).

I only buy bacon when it is really deeply discounted and then I buy a lot of it. I bake it all, (but not crisp) drain it well then put it on a cookie sheet (for each slice to individually freeze) freeze then package in servings large enough for one meal. When I am ready to eat it I take it out, throw it on a plate, cover with a paper towel and cook until it is crisp. ( a minute or so) It tastes just like freshly cooked bacon. Yum

I have never baked bacon, but I do microwave it. So much easier and less clean up than cooking it on the stove.

Now I want some bacon. Though I ate a LOT of it when we went to the casino buffet. So I guess I should hold off for a while....a long while.
