Makin' It And Savin' It Sunday

I found this interesting little gem over at the Penny Hoarder about a game to save money! Honestly, I play this game with myself but one is such a lonely number. It would be great if Den would like to play this game too but he is more interested in video games but at least, he is renting them from the library.
Do you have a mate that is willing to join in the saving game?
Alone,

That was just life when the kids were little and we were just starting out. I'm doing the challenge to myself with December spending-trying to lower things here and there, in order to add to my end of year food shelf/family service donation. It does make a lot of senses-who doesn't like a little healthy competition, and if the end result is positive for both in the family, all the better. I might question though the total cheapskate mentality that took it a bit too far and went for things like-who could go the longest without showering (lots of water savings there) or not using soap and deodorant. That might not be so good for a couple.

I wish.
A game that I play on my own here.
Except for the cooling. I won't compromise on that.
It is not yet six, and I am already sweating and the cooler is ON. And will stay on.

I challenge myself a lot when it comes to spending - I only go to $5.00 movies, make my gas last by walking and biking and when Kazi is away for a few days I only eat what I have on hand. I find it fun but then I'm twisted like that! I just need to find a way to make my own alcohol without killing myself!

I do this by myself. I cannot compromise on the ac, however. I tried it, but I have allergies, so ac is not a compromise. Plus, I do like the lights on! I don't spend money on any paper products, dry clothes outdoors if at all possible. Plus, I hang things indoors. I spend very little and have been known to return a purchase to save money.

Since my MIL lives with us, we can't do anything different with the a/c or heater... And my family is too picky at the moment to do laundry any other way... And if I didn't have paper plates, I'd drown myself in the kitchen sink... seriously...

Other than that I'm game!

TheHub would be happy to play this with me as long as he didn't have to make any changes
