Makin' It And Savin' It Sunday

WOW! I'm not sure that I would ever take this kind of a bet. The Penny Hoarder has an article about a man that has almost 1500 credit cards. I don't see how this would be a good idea except for having an almost perfect credit score. I guess I would have to use all the credit cards as dish scrapers or maybe make something out of them. Any ideas? Plastic chandeliers?

You could make a dress like the costume designer for "Priscilla Queen of the Desert" I remember her accepting her Oscar wearing a dress made of American Express cards

That's crazy talk! I only have 2 major cards and my score is 826. Of course I am rated as "Poor" on the credit scale in the amount of open accounts I have. lolz

I wonder how much this guy has to pay each year for that safety deposit box he needs to store all those cards. Only makes sense if he gets it free with his bank account. 8-)

I struggle using the store cards let alone that many credit cards. This move from being smart about using credit into a whole world of crazy.

I wondered if all those were active accounts or if he has used all of them lately. It is a whole new world of crazy. Does he use these to impress dates or what?

We don't have a credit score in Canada. You either have good credit or bad here. We still have reporting agencies. As long as you have at least 1 line of revolving credit and pay your bills you have good credit. That way we only need 1 credit card (I have a backup but never use it and a line of credit set up 15 years ago that has a zero balance that costs me nothing to keep). I kind of think it is a better system - just saying, that many is incredibly ludicrous.

That is plain weird.
I remember that dress made from credit cards and I have seen them used to scrape ice from windscreens too.
Mine stays (mostly) in my wallet.

1500 credit cards? Sounds so ridiculous. I read about this. Who has time to manage all of that!

E.C. I thought that dress was brilliant! If I had the body to wear one I would. Instead I have to just carry a really cool evening bag

I do know people who can get quite a long way with no money by having lots of credit cards. I think you need the kind of mind that likes doing jigsaw puzzles, fitting together lots of impossible little bits, so you remember who you owe what to. Or something. I don't know. It gives me a headache just to think about it actually. I think I'd prefer just to not spend the money...
