Makin' It And Savin' It Sunday

I love anything to do with people getting out of debt. It's not easy for any of us to get ahead and I love the stories that are honest and give hope.  The Penny Hoarder has an article about a couple that paid off $13,000 in debt in two years with a combined income of $28,000 a year.
We don't have a lot of debt. We have the mortgage and we have the credit card debt on 0% for the car I bought last summer. And trust me, I am working on that debt to the point of making Den a bit nuts. We don't eat out very often and the only extra monthly bills that we have are the cells phones(but Anna, Den and I use our phones as hot spots since its unlimited data.) and Den has his gym membership. Besides that I run a pretty tight ship with just a few trips to the casino. LOL. How about you, do you have extra debt? How do you pay it down?

That is a great article and I wish I had seen it when I was 20.

I am so glad we don't have debt anymore - it took such a long time to get out of it. I wish I had been more debt free in my 20s and 30s. Life would have been so much easier.

NO DEBT period. I'm a chip off my father's block. He hated debt and he passed that down to me. Thankfully.

We have our mortgage, but are paying extra per month to get rid of it. We once did away with our checkbook and paid bills in cash. Kind of a nuisance, but we really managed our money better that way.
