Makin' It And Savin' It Sunday

There is a great article from the Penny Hoarder about how a Mom helped her son win $100,000 worth of college scholarships. It is basically a step by step guide on how to win money. My wheels are a turning. I love it!!!!
Are your doing anything to save money this weekend? Staying on the couch is a way to conserve not only energy but money too, right?

Daughter is singe dup on Raise.me, where there are various schools around the country that guarantee scholarships based on merit, activities, and volunteer-community work. Depending on if the student decides to go to one of those schools, the scholarship amount is guaranteed as part of their overall financial aid package if they are accepted. So far only two schools that are realistic contenders are part of the program, but new colleges and universities can come on at any time. Even if she ends up with only a few thousand or hundreds in extra scholarships, for spending about 15 minutes a semester logging in and updating grades and activities, it could be worth it. I remember a $300 scholarship coming to our daughter right when DH's company went bankrupt and he was unemployed a few months-that $300 felt like thousands at that time to help with college expenses when we had two in college.

Your education and health costs scare me. As does the fact that our current Government would like to emulate it.

Specially if you take the duvet off your bed and wrap it round you. Then you dont even need to buy a blanket.
